I went to go see Jason Manford and asked him to sign a painting i did of him. Which he kindly did.

He’s currently on tour, so if you get a chance go see him, do. It’s a master class in stand up, very slick and funny.

He’s also got a book out now called “Brung Up Proper”

Exciting Times

Whats been going on in the world of The Oks, quite a few things I can tell you.

I’ve just secured a new studio in Leamington Spa, so now my home can now go back to being my home. Usualy I get “Wow, you work from home that must be great” it is and it isnt , theres lots of distractions when you work from home, plus if I want to relax, I still have paintings all over the place shouting “FINISH ME!”

I’ve been working with some great Techy guys too and we’ll be launching a new App soon called “Prank Me Halloween” Just in time for spooky goings on, once the app is up I’ll do a Youtube video

Also I’ve got some artwork up in The white Horse in Leamington Spa so thats pretty good news , my work is hanging with other loacal artists, its a great oppurtunity as the pub gets very busy. So if youre in the area please feel free to pop in and have a pint, they sell strawberry beer! How cool is that!

Lots of other work going on too, a Transformers piece. I’ll let you know how that goes.

This piece is called ” My Adidas” taken from the song by Run DMC.

Adidas Shell toes/tops I think are the coolest trainers ever, they’re simplistic and not too lavish, theres no gimmicks, no air bubbles in the heal, no pump, no disk that you twist to lock them on your feet, it’s just a shoe, a decent shoe.

Painting The Classics

A few years back I was commissioned to create a Mickey Mouse piece for a client in Florida for their villa they rent, I’ve always been a fan of Disney ever since I was a little boy as probably most children have so it was a pleasure to paint.
I’m not usually that keen on painting anything that has be drawn from someone’s mind but I enjoyed painting this one as you really get to see the construction of the characters, so simple but effective.
Here’s the piece in the Mickey Mouse Room

They’ve now commissioned me to create a piece for the Donald Duck Room.
Here it is

The image I worked from is very flat coloured so it was nice to put some shading in.
It’s currently got masking fluid over it as I’m about to work on the background a kind of light blue to navy blue glow, should be cool when it’s done.

This is the background, I’ve covered up Donald with masking fluid, this allows me to be a bit free with how I apply it.
Then once peeled of it looks like this


After you peel it off you have to go in tight with the brush and fix any “happy little accidents”

Be Careful What You Wish For….

They say be careful what you wish for as it might come true, well I haven’t been very careful recently because, I’ve always wanted to work on an iPhone game.
And guess what , it came true.
Seriously I’ve been thinking about it for ages, if only I knew someone who could code, then all of a sudden my mate Steve who I worked with back in my games industry days got in contact.
And the rest will make history, Steve’s in Australia at the mo and enjoying a great life with his lovely wife Paula and their daughter Amber who has betroved to my son Joe. Though I think they’re not that keen as they’re in that ” boys smell” ” ew, girls”phase.
Steve is amazingly talented and is a joy to work with back in my GI days ( makes me sound like I was in the army) Steve had the pleasure of working on The Dreamcast version of Sydney 2000 ( Bafta award winning) we worked close on it and it was cool.
Now we are working on something ace, and very exciting, now I’m not going to reveal what the games all about but here’s some artwork from the game.

Working on this game has made me so happy and it amazes me that two people who live  opposite side of the world can create something cool.

I feel very honoured that Steve has had faith in me to create the art so if you are reading this Steve " Thank you, let's make a big noise!"
As soon as it's out I will of course let you all know.
So keep your eyes out for it.
I'm now off to push some pixels
